Silicon Valley Insurance Accelerator (SVIA)

Silicon Valley Insurance Accelerator (SVIA) – 19th August 2020

Last night I had the pleasure of speaking at the Silicon Valley Insurance Accelerator‘s webinar series on Next-Gen P&C Insurance Innovation.

It was great debating the changes within the insurance landscape and the influence of Covid-19 alongside fellow thought leaders. Trends driving the future, particularly customer expectations, were discussed too – “People are the ultimate drivers of change !”

Big thanks to Mike for putting together a very insightful event !

Merlin Digital Consulting Ltd is Sponsoring Sian who is raising money for the Severn Hospice

With massive thanks to Molvia Maddox at Melting IceCubes, Mick Pavey at DIY Investors and David Clamp at Merlin Digital for their generous sponsorship of my London Marathon shirt. With a second cancellation and with the Severn Hospice having so much fundraising cancelled this year I have decided to run the event locally in Shropshire on the 4th October. It’s going to be extra tough without the crowds but for a great cause. If anyone feels they can sponsor me the link is: https://lnkd.in/eCK7i6b

Well done Sian – donation made and we will all be thinking of you on 4th Oct ! “We are right behind you” David Clamp

Camelot Live Event – 12th August 2020

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our event today – it was a wonderful turnout, with some really insightful questions from you all. We particularly liked Marisa‘s insight that “It’s amazing what you can achieve when you don’t care who takes the credit!”

We loved the engagement – it seemed like we could discuss this for hours and keep learning. One amazing comment about “innovation should be disseminated throughout an organisation rather than segregated” really sparked the debate !

Thank you to everyone from across the insurance spectrum who actively participated – you made it a success ! Look out for a blog post soon with all the key findings.

We look forward to our next “Ask Camelot” event, on Thursday 10th September at 12pm BST, hosted by our Compliance, Ethics & Risk Think Tank on the crucial area of Operational Resilience.

What an incredible event we had today, run by The Camelot Network ! It was amazing seeing so many of us come together and discuss Innovation within Insurance – especially to have your questions answered by our well-informed innovation experts.

One more nugget of wisdom sparked from this discussion: “Innovation is not what you do, it’s how you do it.” Looking forward to seeing the write-up of these great insights !

Thanks again to our excellent panel – Harvey WadeLee TimmsMarisa MurtonGary Burke and James Downes FRSA.

The Camelot Network – virtual meeting, 17th June 2020

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford

Last night, we celebrated The Camelot Network’s 2nd Birthday, a network of independent consultants supporting one another and sharing connected expertise.

Our first experience using Zoom Breakout Rooms for a ‘speed dating’ networking session proved to be a great success !

A huge thank you to The Camelot Network members for your continued engagement and support.

Happy Birthday Camelot !

Exactly 2 years ago on the 12th June 2018 a few of us got together and planted an acorn. Our vision – to form a diverse network that would help each other and companies quickly solve their business challenges through connecting with independent expert consultants. Today we stand over 130 members strong ! Thank you to all of our members, partners, clients, friends and family who have supported us in many ways. Here’s to an exciting new chapter for The Camelot Network as the mighty oak tree continues to grow.

The Whitworth Scholarship awards

Some good news in these challenging times.

Many moons ago, I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship bursary to study engineering at university – an amazing spring board to my future career.

The Whitworth Scholarship awards are open until the end of June for Apprentice Engineers embarking on their university studies. If you know someone who would benefit from financial help to attend university, then pass them this link https://lnkd.in/dRpVkTi
